NOTICE OF RACE
Eagle Creek Sailing Club
(ECSC)
1. RULES: The regatta will be governed by the ‘rules’ as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS 2005-2008), including the prescriptions of US Sailing, the Sailing Instructions, and One Design Rules may apply
a. RRS 29.3 is modified to
eliminate the one-minute requirement on a general recall
b. RRS 33 is modified to eliminate the requirement to display the compass course or length when course is changed
c. RRS 61.1(a) is modified to require a protesting boat to inform and be acknowledged by the RC immediately upon finishing its race, where a protest is lodged properly against another competitor.
d. RRS 44.1 is modified to score any boat DSQ without ability to exonerate herself for entering the out of bounds area
2. ENTRY: To be eligible to race, entries must be filed with the Race Committee by completing the Registration Form, sending it together with the required fee and postmarked by May 9, 2008. Late entries will be accepted with form and a $5 late fee until 10:00 AM May 17, 2008 at the check-in table. Boats racing in PHRF handicap fleet must have an ECSC PHRF Handicap Form on file with ECSC Racing available at registration and online @ http://race.ecsail.org
3. FLEETS:
a. Two handicap fleets of spinnaker and non-spinnaker boats competing together with a 12s differential given to spinnaker boats.
b. One
c. One Design Classes with five (5) or more boats may be given their own start (classes may be combined)
4. FEES: Each entry includes ONE REGATTA SHIRT and ONE SATURDAY DINNER. Required fees:
a. Pre-Registration and payment postmarked on or before May 9, 2008 $55.00
b. Late Registration and payment after May 9, 2008 $60.00
** Deduct $5 if current member of US Sailing

6. RACES: Every attempt will be made to complete no fewer than three (3) races.
7. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS: Will be available after 7:00 PM Friday, May 2, 2008 at Eagle Creek Sailing Club and online @ http://race.ecsail.org after May 2, 2008.
8. COURSES: Will be provided in Sailing Instructions
9. SCORING: Scoring shall be by the Low Point Scoring System of Appendix A of RRS. There will be no throw-outs.
10. AWARDS: Awards will be given as follows: 1 boat in fleet - None, Congratulations; 2 or 3 boats in fleet - First Place; 4 or 5 boats - First and Second Place; 6 or more boats - First, Second and Third Place. The Mayor’s Cup will be awarded to the boat with the lowest total score in any fleet with 6 or more boats. In the event of a tie, the procedure of RRS Appendix A8.1 shall be applied across classes. If the tie is not broken, the number of boats beaten during the regatta shall be calculated and the boat that beat the most boats shall be awarded the Mayor’s Cup. If the tie is still not broken, the Mayor’s Cup shall be awarded to Co-Champions.
